Registering for an examination is important to assure we have the correct number and type of examination materials on hand. There is a $15.00 fee for taking an examination. This fee is payable at the time of the examination. Please review the other required items before arriving at your testing site.
Apply for a FRN Number
All amateur examination applicants will be required to provide an FCC Registration Number (FRN) to the Volunteer Examiners (VEs) before taking an amateur exam, in place of a Social Security Number. An FCC video provides step-by-step instructions on how to obtain an FRN through the FCC’s COmmission REgistration System (CORES).
