There are some basic requirements including some at-home preparation should you wish to sit for an FCC license exam to obtain or upgrade an amateur radio license. Course Registration
- Pre-registration is required for all testing and class sessions.
- Registrations can be made to Matt via email or by phone (518-797-NQ2U)
- NEW: Register Online for Upcoming Sessions
Obtain a FRN Number from FCC
- Go to the Commission's Registration System (CORES) and Click Register.
- Answer whether the FRN is for an individual or business and whether the address for the contact is within the U.S. and click Continue.
- Complete the registration information and click Submit.
Bring With You to Exam Session
- Copy of current, valid amateur radio license (if any)
- Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination (CSCE, if any)
- Copy of current CORES or FRN number from FCC
- Payment for exam (cash or check payable to ARRL VEC) for $15.00
- Two #2 pencils with good erasers, as well as a blue or black ink pen.
- Some sort of picture ID (passport, driver license, school ID, etc.)
- A basic calculator may be used at discretion of VE Team.
