ARRL Field Day began in 1933 and is now an annual event occurring at the end of June. This year’s event is scheduled for June 24th and 25th.
During Field Day, amateur radio operators set up temporary stations to demonstrate the science of radio communications, operator skills and service to our communities and the nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach and technical skills under less than optimal conditions, due to the temporary setups in use.
The Schoharie County Amateur Radio Association (SCARA) attempts to utilize a different location throughout Schoharie County to show the public our capabilities in a wide variety of situations and locations. This year we will be operating from the Cobleskill Elks Lodge #2040, located at 152 Legion Drive in Cobleskill, NY.
